Susan Strauss, Owner & Creative Director, CWP

Owner and creative director of Simply Personal, LLC is known nationally for her leadership, visionary and engineer-minded approach to all creative aspects and logistics. Susan graduated from Baylor University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art.  With a strong will to succeed at every project she began traveling the world planning corporate events and meetings all over the world. From New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando, Dallas, LA, Prague, London, Paris and Spain to many more, this small town Texas girl could handle just about anything. With managing over 2,000 attendees and 21 staff her mastermind of logistics is an art form in itself.

Reaching the top quickly and a personal experience led her to explore her passion for paper and design and minister to the stressed out bride. Not satisfied with the invitation options and lack of personality she pursued her dreams of entrepreneurship and building a creative arts company in 2005 that would service clients in a way that would create true client/business relationships and satisfaction unseen by the industry before Simply Personal was created.  Developing the six core commitments (value, service, integrity, innovation, embracing challenges and teamwork) as the foundation to Simply Personal she has created an organization with the reputation of going above and beyond and keeping the client at the forefront of every decision.

Susan is a Certified Wedding Planner who is known for her creativity, organization, strong listening skills and overall care for the bride and the family. Bringing so much psychology into a project such as www.simplypersonal.com gives this company the extra edge of knowing what the bride really needs and desires.

Courtney Richter, Operations Manager & Graphic Designer

Operations Manager and Graphic Designer, this is the voice you most likely will be greeted by when you call Simply Personal. Courtney is a Houston native, and graduate from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. With a servant’s heart and incredible talent Courtney will make your Simply Personal experience smooth and enjoyable. Courtney is a paper guru and loves to exhaust all options to ensure your project is designed, produced and delivered exactly how you envisioned it. Courtney is loved by our suppliers, has strong leadership skills and has great knowledge of printing and all things paper.

During her college years, she interned for several churches which allowed her to develop a love for creatively leading and inspiring people. She also served as an English teacher in China where she developed a passion for culture and people of all nations. Her love for color, design, and creativity spawned out of a hobby where she began designing t-shirts, fliers, and business cards. Courtney joined Simply Personal May 2009.

Rachel Stein, Sales Manager

Rachel is an Oklahoma native who has made Dallas her home for the past two decades … and was simply born to work in the fields of event and party planning. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Marketing, from the University of Texas at Arlington. After working for a prominent public relations firm and in the world of professional sports, Rachel moved into the event industry to fuel her passion for planning and make the most of her painstaking organizational skills and famed attention to detail. She has worked in the event industry, selling products and concepts and planning corporate functions, for nearly a decade, which makes her uniquely suited to introduce our innovative invitation portal to prospective dealers.  When she’s not at work bringing Simply Personal to prospective dealers, Rachel can often be found volunteering at her sons’ school in hopes of helping our youth. Rachel and her husband, Marc, have two young boys that are truly the joy of their lives.

How it all started...

Simply Personal began as a custom invitation and event planning studio in 2005. Founded on the ideals of creating a personal approach to planning and invitation design, the company quickly developed a reputation of high-level attention to detail, and built strong relationships of dependability and satisfaction.

In 2008, Susan Strauss, our event extraordinaire and owner, had the forethought and trendsetting experience to see an oncoming need to create custom invites faster. She strategized on how to protect high quality products while offering them to brides of all price-points, without sacrificing the personal attention every bride wishes to receive during her invitation process. In addition to our tied-and-true Custom Department our Design Matrix was launched! 

Headquartered in the Dallas, Simply Personal first launched the Design Matrix website in January 2010.  The company has since reached the international market by servicing clients across the country and worldwide. Visit Simply Personal studio in Dallas or find a location near you!

Owner and founder of Simply Personal, graduated from Baylor University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art. Not only is Susan an awesome creative designer she is also an amazing event planner.  Susan has traveled the world managing large events ranging from 3-17 days in length and up to 1200 attendees at a time packed with fun events and activities.  Combining her graphic design and event planning expertise, Susan can make any event come to life and run seamlessly. Susan is extremely detailed oriented, able to juggle multiple tasks and artistically design any vision you dream.

Courtney is excited to produce creative and charming projects that cater specifically to her clients’ needs.

Lisa Woodard Stevens, Wedding & Event Coordinator

Born in Lubbock, Texas and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, her diverse upbringing lends to a unique perspective on every event and endeavor. Lisa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Tech in 2003 and has since received a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies and a Master of Theological Studies.  Over the years event planning has become an adventure in transitioning her artistic and educational background into creative, unforgettable experiences for her clients. Lisa has experience in floral design, wedding and event planning of over 12 years.  Lisa’s professional background also includes teaching, painting, and jewelry design. She brings warmth and personality to everything she creates.

Lauren Mills, Managing Director & Event Planner - Austin & San Antonio

Lauren graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management.  It was here and through several college internships that she discovered her true love and passion for planning events.  Shortly after her graduation, she made her journey to Austin, Texas where she worked for a local company planning 160+ events a year all over the United States.  Lauren has a reputation for always going above and beyond the call of duty and never skipping a detail.  Happiness is of the most important factors in her planning and she will make sure to leave her client's with the most memorable experience they could have imagined possible.

Elizabeth Erickson, Wedding and Event Associate

Dallas native and graduate from Baylor University with a degree in Communications.  Shortly after graduating she moved to Aspen, CO to fulfill her dreams of event planning.  She began her career at the St. Regis Hotel in Aspen in the Sales and Conference Services Division and took care of groups such as Credit Suisse First Boston, EMC2, and Merrill Lynch.  Elizabeth has always had a passion for things creative and she wanted to be more intimately involved in her events so she went to work for a local Event Management Company.  She performed concepting and event management as well as all the details in between. She moved back to Dallas in 2002 and worked for a local Destination Management Company before joining Simply Personal. She has a love of flowers and enjoys the décor and floral part of every event. Elizabeth especially loves making each event personal from the theme, to the invitations, to the entertainment and finally to a parting gift; she knows every element is important! From sales meetings to incentive trips to weddings Elizabeth excels at pleasing the client and making sure it is exactly what they dreamed of.

Lindsey Encinias, Wedding and Event Associate

Lindsey is known for her compassion for clients and excellent communication skills. Lindsey has planned and operated large events with more than 900 attendees in locations such as Argentina, Austria, Canada, Singapore and throughout the United States.  Her organizational skills and fun sense of humor add to the enjoyable atmosphere at Simply Personal. Her extensive experience with events of all sizes makes her an amazing asset to the team. Lindsey’s attention to detail and style guarantee success.

Lindsey graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in public relations.
